YP Day on the Hill

Day on the Hill is our chance to take YPJC to Nashville for a behind-the-scenes look at how state government actually works. We’ll spend the day at the Tennessee State Capitol meeting with our elected representatives, sitting in on live legislative floor sessions and committee meetings, and getting a guided tour of the Capitol building.

It’s designed to help young professionals understand how decisions are made at the state level, what issues are being discussed this session, and how our voices can influence policies that impact our careers, communities, and daily lives. Think of it as civic engagement made approachable: you get to see it, hear it, and ask questions in real time.

YP Day on the HIll 2026 will take place
Monday, March 2 – March 3
Even if you cannot attend, we still want to carry your voice with us to Nashville. Email info@ypjohnsoncity.com to share any questions, concerns, or priorities you would like us to bring to our Senators and Representatives. After the trip, we will publish a comprehensive summary of the conversations we had and the insights we gathered so all of our members can stay informed.

Cost to attend: $75
