Boundaries Bootcamp – Lunch and Learn

November 17 @ 11:45 am - 1:00 pm
Free
We’ll talk about why saying “No” can be so hard, how people-pleasing gets us into trouble, and why high achievers often end up doing everything for everyone. We’ll also explore how that spills over between work and home. Having an overflowing plate doesn’t magically stop being a problem when we leave the office!
This discussion will be interactive, with group discussion and real-life scenarios: What do you say when your boss adds another task to your already-full plate? When a coworker keeps handing off their work? When someone expects you to be available after hours? Participants will help come up with responses, and we’ll work through ways to be clear and respectful while protecting their time.
Led by licensed psychotherapist Dana Skaggs, her goal is to help you protect your time and energy, communicate clearly, and make room for what really matters without feeling like you have to do everything for everyone.
You’ll leave with:
• A clearer understanding of what belongs in your “yard” and what belongs to someone else.
• Greater awareness of where people-pleasing or overcommitting is costing you time and energy.
• Practical language for difficult conversations.
• A simple ABC framework: Acknowledge the person or situation, state the Boundary, and Clarify the next step.
Free lunch provided!!
